There is likely to be concentration of PV systems installed around China due to government-offered feed-in tariff subsidies in the second half of 2014, and consequently Taiwan-based crystalline silicon solar cell makers are expected to benefit from the surging demand, according to industry sources.
While the China government has set a total installation capacity of 12-14GWp for PV systems in 2014, PV systems installed or to be installed by the end of June will have an estimated total installation capacity of 2-4GWp, the sources said.
Viewing that the progress of installation is lagging behind target, the China government has decided to take measures to actively promote PV system installations, the sources indicated.
